 Who is this for?

16 - 18 year-olds with any background and experience.
12 - 15 year-olds who have completed at least one module by LCCL Coding Academy.
8 - 11 year-olds who have completed at least two module sets at the Coding Fundamentals and Algorithms levels by LCCL Coding Academy.

 What is IT-enabled Mindset, ITeMS™?

IT-enabled Mindset, ITeMS™ is formulated by Prof Leong Hon Wai, Professor of Computer Science at the School of Computing, NUS. In the ITeMS™ modules, students learn to develop an IT-enabled mindset, which is the ability to leverage on Computational Thinking to apply to problems across all domains, to ask new questions, solve new problems and seek new solutions.

What is Computational Thinking? Computational Thinking is a set of concepts and approaches for formulating a problem and expressing its solutions in a way that an information-processing agent, be it computer or human, can effectively execute. Computational Thinking supports problem solving across all disciplines, including the humanities, sciences and engineering.

ITeMS™ is a highly recommended module to students of all ages, regardless of personal interest.

 Minimum Requirements

  • 12 - 18 year-olds who love logic quizzes and puzzles, with zero or minimal prior experience to Python.
  • Comfortable operating the computer, browsing the web and saving files.

 

 Laptops

All participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops. This is so that students are able to  practice and complete optional coding challenges at home. Recommended laptop specification: Windows 7 / 8 / 10, Mac OS X or Linux, with at least 4 GB RAM.

If you do not have a personal laptop, LCCL Coding Academy provides laptops for use at the school. Please indicate your laptop needs during registration.

What's the refund policy?

All registrations are non-refundable. If the student has to miss a class due to unforeseen circumstance, we will do our best to help get the student up to speed again.

My child is younger/older than the required age. May they join the course?

My child does not have a laptop. Does the school provide any?
