  Minecraft Modding

 Who is this for?

This program is suitable for:

  • 8 - 11 year-olds who are graduates of Game Programming Bootcamp

What is the Minecraft Modding program?

The Minecraft Modding program shifts the perspective of young gamers from being a player (i.e. consumer) to a Minecraft mod developer (i.e. creator). Each level of the program widens the learners' view as they gradually build knowledge, competency, and practical experience in:

  • Coding with Javascript
  • Designing and implementing algorithms

The Minecraft Modding incremental curriculum ensures that fundamental coding and Computational Thinking concepts are gradually introduced and reinforced at every lesson.

 What do students gain?

A tonne of new knowledge, useful skills, and thinking capacity. Specifically:

  • Understanding what programming is
  • Project design, storyboarding and development
  • Programming Javascript, a language used commonly on web and mobile apps (think GMail, Facebook, Uber, many, many more)
  • Minecraft server administration
  • Minecraft modding
  • Understanding fundamental programming concepts
  • Applying concepts to design of Minecraft mod
